What will I learn?
You will develop interdisciplinary expertise in medical systems biology, combining experimental life sciences and clinical questions with computational modelling, bioinformatics and data science. You will also strengthen skills in research design, statistics, scientific writing, presentation, research ethics and independent project development.
What makes Salzburg so special as a place to study?
The programme offers international, joint supervision: one main supervisor at the host university and two co-supervisors from two other CIVIS universities. It includes at least four weeks of international mobility through an external lab internship at another CIVIS university, alongside access to international networks, research environments and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Which career opportunities do I have?
Graduates are prepared for research and leadership careers in academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, healthcare innovation and data-driven enterprises. The programme also supports careers connecting systems biology with clinical applications, diagnostics, precision medicine and therapeutic development.
