SL2

The Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS (University of Salzburg) is a partner in the Erasmus+ project “Service Learning 2.0: A digital ecosystem for university–community collaboration and student empowerment. Enhancing learning and civic engagement” (SL 2.0: ColLab). The project is coordinated by the University of Bucharest Learning Center and is funded with €400,000.

The project aims to strengthen cooperation between universities and civil society organizations (CSOs) by developing a collaborative digital tool that facilitates inclusive and innovative service-learning projects. It is based on an educational ecosystem in which teachers, students and local communities co-create meaningful learning experiences based on the real needs of contemporary society.

Objectives

  1. Develop a digital platform for collaboration between universities and community organizations, integrating tools for project management, educational resources and impact monitoring.
  2. Create a support framework for all participants – students, teachers and community partners – ensuring accessibility, mentoring and recognition of involvement, with a focus on students from vulnerable groups.
  3. Train teachers and community organizations to implement sustainable service-learning models integrated into the university curriculum.

Impact

SL 2.0: ColLab aims to develop students’ civic, digital and social skills, strengthen long-term partnerships between universities and communities, and create a European model of participatory, inclusive and socially impactful education.
