Doctoral Studies

Philosophy
The doctoral programme in Philosophy (6 semesters) is offered as part of the doctoral programme of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The focus of the programme is on writing a dissertation in the field of philosophy, in which the researcher must demonstrate that he/she can contribute to philosophical research in a specific area. In addition, attendance to dissertation seminars and some courses on scientific theory/methodology is also planned. Publishing essays, holding lectures and participating in conferences can also be accredited.

Admission requirements for EU citizens
The following documents must be submitted for admission to the doctoral programme in Philosophy:
- Completed Application for admission. Note: Please tick the seventh box (GW-Fac.) as the doctoral programme applied for.
- BA and MA diploma (original or certified copy)
- Transcript of all courses taken (original or certified copy)
- Copy of passport
- It is also helpful – but not required – to submit the following documents: Curriculum of the BA and MA programme, abstract of the Master’s thesis
