Allocation of places in courses with a limited number of participants: (1) The following regulations apply to the allocation of places in courses with a limited number of participants at the University of Salzburg: 1. the number of participants in the master program Molecular Biology is limited for the individual course types as follows: Restrictions of participants: Lecture (VO): no limitation VU, UE, SE, PS: 20 participants UV, UE in lab: 15 participants 2. In courses with limited number of participants, if the maximum number of participants is exceeded by the number of registrations, those students for whom this course is part of the curriculum will be given priority. 3. Students of the master program Molecular Biology are admitted to courses in the following order:
  • noted waiting list places from the previous year
  • study progress (sum of completed ECTS credits in the study program)
  • the higher number of positively passed examinations
  • the higher number of completed semesters
  • the grade point average weighted according to ECTS credits
  • the lot
Vacant places will be awarded to students of other programs according to the same ranking criteria. 4. For students in international exchange programs, in addition to the envisaged maximum number of participants, places are available in the amount of at least ten percent of the maximum number of participants. These places are allocated by lot. This regulation does not apply to courses with increased security requirements, equipment requirements or laboratory-intensive character.
