Stephan M. Schweighofer has been a research associate at Paris Lodron University Salzburg since October 2021. He is pursuing his doctorate under Univ.-Prof. MMag. DDr. Ulrike Greiner in the field of European Citizenship Education, focusingon values research, and teaches courses related to teacher training.
Prior to this role, he was a lecturer at the Università Roma III in Italy, where he taught in the Intercultural Communication (Languages and Literatures) program.
Stephan Schweighofer studied Italian and German at the University of Graz as well as in Florence (Italy) and Coimbra (Portugal). He also completed a postgraduate certificate course in International Relations and Diplomacy in Geneva (Switzerland). In addition to his work at the University of Salzburg, he teaches at HTL Trenkwalderstraße in Innsbruck and advises various educational projects in Austria and abroad.
In 2023, he received the Federal Chancellery’s European State Prize in the “Europe in Education” category.
