AGI Curriculum overview

The Curriculum Master’s in Applied Geoinformatics (2025) is in effect with it’s publication in June 2025.

Following graphic provides a general overview of modules and courses:

AGI Curriculum 2025

To satisfy all requirements under the 2025 curriculum, students need to complete:
  • 78 ECTS of compulsory subjects through courses offered as lectures, labs or seminars
  • 6 ECTS Transdisciplinary module for socio-ecological crises
  • 6 ECTS Free Elective Courses
  • 6 weeks / 9 ECTS as an internship (usually completed externally)
  • 1 ECTS as an ePortfolio (to be submitted jointly with the Master Thesis)
  • a Master Thesis and Master colloquium followed by a final exam
  • .. all together for a total of 120 ECTS credits

The 2016 Curriculum >Applied Geoinformatics curriculum (>English translation) was in effect since 2016, therefore referred to as the 2016 curriculum. Students who started with the 2016 curriculum can either switch to the new 2025 curriculum or finalize their study program according to the 2016 curriculum till October 2027.
