Brita Steinwendtner’s radio works

The Salzburg-based author  Brita Steinwendtner (born 1942 in Wels, Upper Austria), who directed the Rauris Literary Festival from 1990 to 2012 (see Archive of the Rauris Literary Festival), was a freelancer for ORF-Salzburg from 1972 to 2000, where she was responsible for literature on the radio. In the course of this work, she produced numerous radio programs on literary and cultural topics, interviews and conversations with Austrian authors, as well as contributions on international literature.

In 2019, Brita Steinwendtner donated her collection of audio documents together with typescripts, manuscript notes and dossiers (collections of materials) on individual topics and broadcasts to the Literature Archive Salzburg. In a cooperation with the  Österreichische Mediathek (Vienna), Brita Steinwendtner’s ORF contributions were digitized (MP3 format) and – with the kind permission of the cooperation partner ORF – can now be accessed and listened to by users in the Literature Archive Salzburg.

An inventory list of the digitized audio documents has been compiled by the Österreichische Mediathek and is searchable via this link. Brita Steinwendtner has compiled an archive list of the typescripts, manuscripts and materials stored in individual A4 folders, which she has supplemented with individual items of information (only in German).
