    The topics of the conference are Convex Geometry and Discrete Geometry, Asymptotic Geometric Analysis, as well as Integral Geometry, Stochastic Geometry and Geometric Probability.

  • Workshop Statistical Methods in Forensic Research
    Am Mittwoch, 10. Juni 2015, hat ein von Fachbereich Mathematik und QR.S (Quantitative Research.Salzburg) organisierter Workshop zu Statistischen Methoden in Forensischer Forschung stattgefunden. Unter forensischer Forschung versteht man unter anderem das Identifizieren von Fingerabdrücken, Handschriften, oder allgemeiner das Ermitteln von Urhebern von Spuren oder Bildern, die hinterlassen werden. Unter den eingeladenen Rednern waren Prof. Dr. Mark Lancaster (Northern Kentucky University), Prof. Dr. Don Gantz (George Mason University) und Prof. Dr. Christopher P. Saunders (MITRE, South Dakota State University) aus den USA, sowie A. Jeannette Leegwater vom Netherlands Forensic Institute. Gemeinsam wurden methodische Ansätze in der Forschung sowie ihre Anwendung diskutiert.

    Der am 12.01.2015 abgehaltene Kick-Off Workshop “Forschung trifft Schule” wurde erfolgreich genutzt, um das  Sparkling Science Projekt EMMA an der Universität Salzburg, an weiteren österreichischen Universitäten sowie an Schulen in Salzburg und Umgebung bekannt zu machen. …mehr, Photo
  • Workshop QR.S “Interdisziplinärer Methodenworkshop R, Einführung und mehr”, 6. Dezember 2013
    Der Fachbereich Mathematik, in Kooperation mit den Fachbereichen Biologie und Psychologie und dem Quantitative Research Hub.Salzburg, veranstaltete am 6. Dezember 2013 von 8:30 Uhr bis 15.00 Uhr einen Workshop, der sowohl eine elementare und praxisbezogene Einführung in die Software-Umgebung R bot, als auch weiterführende Kenntnisse zur  Erstellung statistischer Grafiken und der Verwendung spezieller Pakete vermittelte. Referenten waren Walter R. Gruber (Psychologie), Wolfgang Trutschnig (Mathematik), Roman Fuchs (Biologie) und Arne Bathke (Mathematik).
  • Workshop QR.S “Multiple Vergleiche und deren Umsetzung in R”, 14. Juni 2013
    Der Fachbereich Mathematik, in Kooperation mit dem Fachbereich Psychologie und der Salzburger Gesellschaft für Psychologie, veranstaltete am 14. Juni 2013 von 13.00 Uhr bis 18.00 Uhr einen Workshop zum Thema “Multiple Vergleiche und deren Umsetzung in R”. Referent war Univ.-Prof. Dr. Frank Konietschke (München/Göttingen).
