Representation of Women in Municipal and State Politics in Salzburg
The research project, funded by the Landtag Directorate, focuses on the representation of women in municipal and state politics in Salzburg.
The representation of women in political offices is an important indicator of gender equality and democratic participation in modern societies. In Salzburg, as in many other regions, women are underrepresented in political positions at both the municipal and state levels. This research project is dedicated to systematically analyzing this representation in order to gain insights into the obstacles and opportunities for women to enter politics and to succeed in political roles.
The results are intended to contribute to the promotion of gender equality in political offices and provide valuable foundations for political strategies aimed at improving equal opportunities.
This project is led by Prof. Zoe Lefkofridi and Dr. Armin Mühlböck and is carried out in collaboration with students Emma Remich, Antonia Seitz, and Marina Schmalzer.
