The Dual Career Service at the University of Salzburg works with the newly appointed professor and their partner during the appointment process to ensure that the partner can continue their professional career in Salzburg or the surrounding region as smoothly as possible after relocating from abroad. Support includes both professional and private orientation. -
HSD+
The quality of university teaching is a key factor in a university’s reputation – and a core responsibility of academic staff. The internal Higher Education Didactics Programme (HSD+) at the University of Salzburg offers a comprehensive qualification specifically for teaching staff at the University, enabling them to design courses at the highest didactic level. -
Welcome Center
The Welcome Center of the University of Salzburg supports new international employees (academic staff, postdocs, newly appointed professors) and international visiting scholars, as well as their families, in planning, preparing and carrying out their stay at the University of Salzburg.

Staff appraisal meetings
For managers, structured staff appraisal meetings are a key instrument of modern human‑resources management. They create space for reflection, goal‑setting and development – away from everyday operational demands. At the University of Salzburg, we support you in conducting these meetings effectively, thereby strengthening motivation, collaboration and quality in a sustainable way. -
Coaching for Managers
Heads of organisational units may, in consultation with the Human Resources – Staff Development Department, make use of coaching sessions up to a value of 500 euros per year. The aim is to provide targeted support on leadership matters and to strengthen leadership competencies.
