CIVIS
CIVIS is a European university alliance of which the University of Salzburg is a member. For employees, it provides access to international exchange formats, digital learning opportunities, and professional development across borders. CIVIS fosters networking with colleagues from eleven European universities, supports the development of international competencies, and strengthens the international visibility of the University of Salzburg. Participation in CIVIS initiatives enhances personal development and contributes to the University’s strategic orientation as a European employer. -
Digital University Hub
The Digital University Hub (DUH) is an Austria‑wide platform for digital transformation in the higher education sector, in which the University of Salzburg is actively involved. For employees, the DUH provides access to innovative projects, digital training opportunities, and interuniversity exchange. Participation strengthens digital skills and supports the development of forward‑looking higher education structures. -
Data protection and cybersecurity
Data protection and cybersecurity are key topics for employees at the University of Salzburg. Regular training sessions are offered to convey legal requirements, AI competences, and the secure handling of personal data. -
Erasmus+
Erasmus+ offers employees of the University of Salzburg a wide range of opportunities for international training and networking. The programme supports teaching and training stays at European partner universities — for both academic and administrative staff. Participation strengthens intercultural skills and expands professional perspectives within the European Higher Education Area. -
External training
In consultation with your supervisor and the HR Development Unit, costs for external training can be covered. This enables individual development beyond the internal programme. -
IMoox
Through the cooperation with iMooX, you have access to free, openly licensed online courses (MOOCs) on a wide range of topics — independently of time and place. -
Training programmes by HR Development
The training programme of the HR Development Unit is open to all employees, free of charge, and usually takes place during working hours. The courses cover a broad range of topics — from communication and project management to leadership and workplace health. -
Courses offered by the Language Centre
The Language Centre provides a broad range of language‑learning opportunities for students and staff of the University of Salzburg and the Mozarteum University, as well as for external language learners. The programme includes semester courses in numerous languages and levels, special courses in German and English, multilingual learning, and language‑learning guidance. Additional offers include a tandem exchange for staff and a regular language meet‑up for multilingual exchange.
